Things are being finalised now.

I am building the plynths to exhibit the new works on even though I dont like the idea of them for showing sculpture.

All the files are now cut out. I will be working into the late hours to get finished for the show

Final cutting of dandelion head components at storm. Now back to the workshop to assemble the fircone leaves.

Cutting with CNC

This is the machine in action that is cutting out my plastic components. It reads files I have created in my laptop from digital sculpting.

It then follows cutting paths using a vibrating knife.

Potentially I can design a work on my laptop and fabricate it minutes later.Unfortunately I cannot afford the machine yet so have to send the files to Storm Cutting Forms in Congleton. Thanks Lee, Steve and Kevin.

Why should architects, industrial designers,3d film directors, computer games manufacturers have all the fun with computer technology.
Sculpture can be conceived visualised and manufactured using the power of the computer.

Well its fitting together ok.
Now im starting to get a bit more optimistic that I will have a show. A show that I might like the look of.

Im a bit concerned. All the work is still virtual. I am having the digital elements cut out using CNC. But I wont know what the sculptures look like until I start assembling the bits.

I took a real taxi and sliced it up. This work was done before I started experimenting with scanning objects and manufacturing them using CNC.
